Bronze Medallion Course

(fees due 14 days prior to commencing course)

Description Fee

Designed for members aged 15 years +

You will need to commit to 40 face-to-face hours and some online learning from home prior to assessment.

Prerequisite is a timed 400m pool swim in 9 minutes.

Lifesaving Camp

(fees due 14 days prior to commencing course)

Description Fee

A weeklong camp designed for 15 to 17 year old candidates.

Bronze Medallion: Prerequisite is 15+ years old and a times 400m pool swim in 9 minutes

Description Fee

For 13+ years members wishing to become Junior lifesaver, or for adults wanting to complete the award for water safety requirements.

This award qualifies candidates for water safety and supervised patrolling.

Prerequisite is a timed 200m pool swim in 5 minutes.

First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation Techniques

Description Fee

For members 14 and 15+ years old (respectively) to further enhance their first aid and resuscitation skills.

Description Fee

NB: there may be a fee if the IRB C or IRB D courses are run in a camp setting.

Late Processing Fee

Description Fee

The club receives an administration fee from LSV to process candidates who have registered late. Unfortunately this fee will need to be past on to candidates who enrol late.

The Pre-Christmas Squad Camp also includes:

  • Accommodation at Angahook Holiday Camp (angahook.com.au)
  • Food for all meals and snacks over the week
  • Scenario consumables
  • Entertainment items
  • Training resources and processing costs
  • Lifesaving camp t-shirt
  • Transport to and from Angahook Holiday Camp, the surfclub/beach

Fairhaven SLSC does not make a profit from Training Activities, with most charges going towards costs of programmes or to Lifesaving Victoria to pay for Insurance, Capitage, Award Processing and Administration costs. Fairhaven SLSC heavily subsidises many aspects of the Training Programme, as it is considered key to the delivery of its core business of Patrolling the beach.
