Newsletter – November 22, 2019

Dear Members,

No need for alarm – but it is 5 weeks until Xmas!

Much is happening behind the scenes in preparation for the season, thanks to all Committee Members, Delegates, Patrol Captains and active members for once again putting up your hand to ensure we have a safe and successful summer.

Our Patrol season officially commences on Saturday 30 November and we are hosting the State Team Trials event as part of the LSV Sports program this weekend. Many thanks to Chloe Hardman, Alex Wright (IRB Captain) and Michael Henderson for their collaboration with LSV to make sure this event is successful.

We currently sit at approximately 1100 financial members for the forthcoming season. This means there are still a few hundred members who are yet to financially renew from last season.

Thank you to all our members who have already renewed. To those members who are yet to renew, please do so soon!

Membership revenue is vital in assisting the club to provide the programs and services that it does. We are grateful to each and every one of our members for their support.

If you need any assistance with the Membership renewal process please contact:
[email protected] or Nicole Clarke at [email protected] / 0439 804 772

Nipper Registration / Swim Proficiency

A reminder also about Nipper registrations. Registrations are filling fast so please renew your family membership if you have not already done so and then head to:

All registered Nippers need to have submitted a signed Nipper Swim Proficiency form to the club by December 4. Nippers cannot partake in water based activities without this.

Details, as well as the form itself, can be accessed via the Fairhaven SLSC App > eForms

A full list of Nippers dates as well as all other relevant information can be found below at:

Xmas Haven and Xmas Merchandise

Our twice annual Haven magazine is currently in production and will be delivered to you online – just prior to Xmas.

It will be packed full of loads of information about all the forthcoming summer events at Fairhaven SLSC!

In addition, we will have a number of great Xmas stocking fillers available for purchase including FSLSC R-Cups (a reusable coffee cup made from used paper cups!), drink bottles tote bags and aprons – more details shortly!

Patrols – Season 2019/20

We are grateful to all our dedicated Active members who keep our beach and community safe.

The FALCON Teams and 2019/20 Patrol Roster have been uploaded to the Fairhaven SLSC website under the ‘Patrols’ section. Also available is a Factsheet that once again explains the FALCON Program as well as the overall patrolling structure at the club for the upcoming season.

Go to:

The Lifesaving Operations Team have released a form for those who would like to join one of the Patrol Teams as either a FALCON Member or alternatively as a general patrolling member. Please express your interest – the more active patrolling members, the better.

If you did not receive this form, or have any further questions, please send Michael Henderson an email at [email protected].

We are looking forward to seeing you on the beach for another fantastic season of patrolling!

Particular thanks to all our FALCON Team members below who have made an extra commitment to attending ALL rostered patrols for the season.
