Dear Members,

Position Vacant

The Committee of Fairhaven SLSC is excited to be seeking applicants for our newly created, part time, Administration Coordinator position.

Reporting directly to the Club Executive and the Committee more broadly, the position exists to provide a central interface between SLSA, LSV, Fairhaven SLSC Members and the club administration functions/database.

Initially, we have chosen to advertise internally via our membership database.

To align with club activities, the position has seasonal variation with regard to required hours per week.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and preferably a minimum of 2 years administration experience and some previous experience working or volunteering within a similar sporting/not for profit organisation.

We are keen for this role to enhance and sustain the extremely valuable volunteer contributions we get from many members.

If you are interested and wish to view a Position Description – please email – [email protected].

GoodSAM app

GoodSAM is the Ambulance Victoria program to use smartphones to get CPR qualified people (like us!) to go and help people in cardiac arrest before the ambulance service can arrive. While there’s no obligation, it’s a great use of the skills we’ve all trained for if you want to join.

The website to sign up is:

You’ll need a photo of your first aid certificate or list of qualifications. They are happy with anyone with a first aid certificate.

You’ll always be backed up by Paramedics and firefighters (if in Melbourne) and the only expectation is that you perform CPR and and defibrillate if you’re able to.

The program is run by a paramedic in Melbourne who has come and talked at Fairhaven camps previously and he’d appreciate everyone’s support.

Ambulance Victoria and Good SAM

Wishing members all the best for the Winter months ahead – keep in mind that some Fairhaven sunshine will be around before we know it and I hope to see as many members as possible at the AGM.

Best Wishes,

Darren West
