Dear Members,

The 63rd Annual General Meeting of Fairhaven SLSC was held last Sunday with over 50 members in attendance.

Julia Clarke and Kirstin Charlesworth were both awarded Life Membership for their many years of outstanding service and contribution to the club. Both made touching acceptance speeches about their time and experience as club members.

Life membership is a fantastic honour for any club person and big congratulations and thanks to both of these great Fairhaven people.

The AGM also represents the conclusion of Committee roles from the previous season and the election of a new Committee to take the club into the future. As always, there is some change in Committee and Delegate roles and we remain very grateful to all members who take on extra roles and responsibility for the betterment of our club and community.

The AGM was a momentous and historic day for Fairhaven SLSC as our first female President was elected. Congratulations to Nancy Joseph!

ESRF Grant/ Building Progress

We are nearing completion on all our projects under this grant which is a fantastic effort by all involved given we only found out about our successful application at Easter!

It has been an honour and a privilege to be the President of Fairhaven SLSC over the last 5 years. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable time and I have loved working with so many great Fairhaven community people. I also know that the time is right for me to pass on the baton.

Fresh energy, ideas and enthusiasm are vital for all organisations to continue to move forward. I know that all our members will get behind Nancy, support her and the Committee fully, and take the club into the future.

Thanks to all our volunteer members who make large and small contributions to our club. Whether contributing hours patrolling, cooking sausages at Nippers or any other job – you are always appreciated and welcome and are vital to the ongoing success of Fairhaven SLSC.

Best wishes,

Darren West
