Summer Season Update
What an amazing start to the summer season. Lots of activity in and around the club and on the beach and wonderful to see many smiling faces.
A short edition to celebrate the season so far and reminders for upcoming events and don’t forget to drop by the Kiosk and Merch shop…lots of options in both!
Welcome and Smoking Ceremony
We were delighted to welcome Brett Clarke and his family for a welcome and smoking ceremony on the first day of Nippers. We are grateful for the words of wisdom, stories and song Brett shared with us all. We look forward to doing some further work with the Eastern Maar people.
The Nipper program is well underway, and it is fantastic to see so many smiling faces on the beach.
We are still calling for parent helpers, especially on the BBQ, there is a roster on the kiosk wall. If you can lend a few hours, we would love to see you.
The Cosy Corner Carnival is on Friday 7 January. Registrations need to be done a week prior, so we will be taking registrations in the clubhouse on Thursday 30 December, 11.30am. Come and register Nippers and pay the $10 entry fee per Nipper (cash or card).
Don’t forget we have the Marine Mammal Foundation coming on Thursday 30 December at 3pm, this is free and open to all, a great way to learn more about marine litter and how we can help.
We celebrated Fairhaven’s inaugural Rainbow Patrol on 28 December, recognising the wonderful contributions of Fairhaven’s LGBTQIA + active members and allies. It was a busy day on the beach with a few rescues and the Rainbow team represented Fairhaven well. Congratulations to all who attended, we encourage our members to show their support again next season at Rainbow Patrol.
Great to see a good turn out of Nippers and adults for the Annual River Swim. Thanks to Liam and the water safety team. Always a few rumours about who won… so watch this space for the official results!
The morning yoga sessions have been very popular. Join Elsie at 7.30am daily to 2 January (excluding 1 January) in the clubhouse.
Bronze Medallion Course
Starting Thursday 30 December
Calling all parents and others who have either done their Bronze many years ago, who have thought about getting their Bronze or who get in the water with the kids… please take the next step and do the Bronze course. The course is flexible with a blend of online learning, face to face and water components. Send an email to [email protected] to register your interest.
New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Fairhaven Community Club Champs
Calling one and all for the Community Club Champs. All are welcome to compete and have fun in this club event on Thursday 6 January. Do one event, two or as many as you choose. Come down to the beach at 9.30am to register for a 10am start.
Anglesea Senior Carnival
Entries are open for the Anglesea Senior Carnival on Sunday 16 January. With the addition of the U13 age group at the 2022 Aussies, this is a great opportunity for U13’s to enter senior carnivals to gain exposure to this setting. Under 13 athletes are only permitted to compete in the programmed U13 events for each specific carnival.
