Dear Members,

Best wishes to all in the Fairhaven/Aireys Inlet family as well as the broader Lifesaving community at this challenging time.

Please see the note below from our dedicated Lifesaving Operations team regarding the early finish to the Patrol season.

The LSV Media release from 1 April can be viewed here.

Please heed the advice – stay home, stay safe and stay well.

A message from the Lifesaving Operations Team – Fairhaven SLSC

In line with guidance from the Victorian Government and Life Saving Victoria, the lifesaving patrol season will finish this week, earlier than the scheduled finish on 13 April (Easter Monday).

The move follows the announcement of Stage 3 restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19, and the closure of a number of beaches by local governments.

An emergency response capacity will be maintained, and these members have been contacted directly.

Once again, if you have not been contacted then you must not attend Fairhaven SLSC for any reason.

Individuals who choose to go swimming do so at their own risk.

We remind all members that they should remain home unless they are leaving to obtain essential goods and services, for care and other compassionate reasons, to work or study, or to exercise.

Please stay safe and look after each other!
