The Fairhaven SLSC held its 59th Annual General Meeting on Sunday 13 August.
Members should have received a hard copy of our Annual Report in the mail, an electronic version can be viewed here (pdf).
We are proud of the Annual Report and think it provides an excellent snapshot of Season 2016-17.
Thanks to all outgoing Committee members – in particular, I would like to recognise the contributions of Andrew Cresswell, James Burt, Julia Clarke and Imogen Dingle.
Thanks also to outgoing Delegates Sarah Burt, Ant Altman, Rebecca Patrick and Paul Patrick.
Thanks also to those who have filled Delegate positions, a full list of Committee and Delegates can be found at: www.fairhavenslsc.org/contact-us
We are yet to fill the role of VP (Admin and Member Services) vacated by Julia Clarke. This is an important role for the club dealing with Membership/Policy and Communications and liaising with our existing Administration Team (Surfguard Registrar and Member Registrar)
Julia is very happy to provide a full handover and support where required. Our club relies on volunteers across all areas of operation and this is a great opportunity for someone to make a significant contribution to Fairhaven SLSC.
A detailed Roles and Responsibilities description is available. The Role would suit a member with some IT/organisational skills but an extensive background in Lifesaving is not essential.
If you are interested, please contact me to discuss further: [email protected]
Nancy Joseph – Life Member LSV
Long time Fairhaven SLSC member and former Club Captain and Secretary, Nancy Joseph was recently awarded Life Membership of Life Saving Victoria – a very prestigious honour.
Nancy has made an enormous contribution over 27 years as a Fairhaven SLSC member and has also made an extensive contribution to the broader Life Saving movement through her involvement in Youth & Leadership and the LSV Female Leadership Network.
Grant helps Fairhaven SLSC protect the environment
Thanks to Kirstin Charlesworth and Rod Woodger for their work in obtaining and organising a grant from GORCC to further protect the sand dunes to the east of the Clubhouse.
Thankyou also to all the willing Fairhaven SLSC members who helped with the planting over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
A full write up and photos can be seen on the following link: lsv.com.au
